Web design
in Ocala

A buyer in Lexington or Newmarket is deciding on six figures from a photograph on a phone. They will not visit first. Your website is the whole showroom — and most Ocala sites are losing that sale in the loading spinner.

01

Ocala sells outward

Most local businesses sell to the town they're in. Ocala is the exception, and it changes everything about how a website should be built.

Marion County is the Horse Capital of the World. The thoroughbred and sport horse economy here — farms, trainers, bloodstock agents, equine vets, feed and tack, transport, insurance — sells to buyers in Kentucky, New York, Ireland, England, Germany and the Gulf. The World Equestrian Center pulls competitors and owners from all over the world into the county on a show calendar, and they arrive having already researched you online.

So the audience for an Ocala equestrian site is not "people near me." It's:

  • Someone in another time zone, evaluating you at 11pm on a phone, comparing you against operations they've already visited.
  • Someone who will not call first. In this market the site is the first meeting. It either reads as a serious operation or it doesn't.
  • Someone spending a lot of money on trust. A horse, a breeding, a training contract, a facility booking. There is no return policy.
  • Someone who arrived by name. They heard about you at a sale or from a trainer, then searched. What they find has to match the reputation that sent them.

The gap this creates

Ocala runs a genuinely international business on a lot of websites built like local ones — slow, template-based, photos straight off a phone at full size. The operations that fix this stand out immediately, because the bar in the market is low and the money on the table is not.

02

Photography is the product

On an equestrian site the images aren't decoration — they're the entire sales argument. That makes image engineering the hardest and most important part of the build, and it's where most sites fail.

Gallery load target

A gallery that takes eight seconds loses the buyer before the second photo. Modern formats, responsive sizes, lazy loading.

1/6

Weight of a phone image

A phone should never download a desktop-sized file. Served at the size the device actually needs, nothing more.

Full

Resolution on demand

Fast thumbnails, then true detail when they click. Conformation matters; a compressed blur costs the sale.

Alt

Text on every image

Pedigree, discipline, year. Accessibility and the only way Google can read a gallery.

What we do with your photographer

We don't shoot horses — you shouldn't hire a generalist for that, and Ocala has specialists who do it properly. What we do is art-direct the shoot: tell them the crops the site needs, the aspect ratios, which angles carry the layout, what the hero has to work at on a phone. Then we handle everything after the shutter — colour, crop, compression, delivery.

Most sites fail here. The photography cost real money and then got uploaded at 8MB straight from the card, so it loads slowly and looks worse than the file it came from.

03

Beyond the horse economy

Ocala isn't only horses. Marion County has a substantial healthcare corridor, a growing logistics and distribution base along I-75, a historic downtown commercial district, and steady retirement-driven residential growth.

  • Medical and dental practices — where accessibility stops being optional. An older patient base makes readable type and clear navigation a conversion issue, and healthcare sites carry real ADA exposure. It's the same discipline we apply in The Villages.
  • Professional services — law, accounting, insurance. Credibility-led, referral-driven, where the site is the reference check.
  • Retail and hospitality — downtown Ocala businesses competing for both residents and the visitor traffic the show calendar brings in.
  • Trades and contractors — same lead-focused build we do in Wildwood: tappable number, fast on mobile, service area named.

04

What we build

  • Photography-led websites — galleries that load fast and hold up at full resolution, built around the images rather than around them.
  • Brand identity — logo, color, type. Designed to work on a website, a sale catalogue page, a saddle pad and a farm gate sign.
  • Print — sale catalogues, stall cards, banners, show programmes, signage.
  • ADA-compliant builds — essential for healthcare, useful everywhere.
  • Local SEO — schema, Google Business Profile setup, and the local signals that bring in Marion County clients alongside the out-of-state ones.
  • Social media management — ongoing content for operations that don't have time to post through a show season.

Selected work

Brand and web projects across healthcare, hospitality and consumer brands. The hospitality work in particular deals with the same problem as an Ocala farm: selling a place to someone who hasn't been there yet.

How it works

  1. 01

    Free review

We measure your current site the way an out-of-state buyer experiences it — load time on a phone, how the galleries perform, whether the photography survives compression. Findings are yours free.

  2. 02

    Conversation

Phone, WhatsApp, or in person — we're an hour south in Wildwood. We want to know who your buyer actually is and where they come from.

  3. 03

    Written proposal

Fixed scope, fixed price, dated milestones — planned around your sale and show calendar, not through the middle of it.

  4. 04

    Art direction & build

We brief your photographer on what the site needs, then build around the images. You approve each milestone; we revise within scope until you're satisfied, per our terms.

  5. 05

    Launch

We verify load times on real connections, check accessibility, set up your Business Profile, and hand you the files.

Questions

Yes — farms, trainers, bloodstock agents, equine vets and the suppliers around them. The shared problem is that your buyer is often in another state or country and decides from photographs before ever visiting. That's a design problem before it's a marketing one.

Both matter, for different reasons. Local search brings the people already in Marion County — vets, suppliers, boarders, local clients. The out-of-state and international buyers arrive by referral and by name search, and what they need is a site that holds up under scrutiny. We build for both; they're not in conflict.

We don't shoot horses or facilities, and you shouldn't hire a generalist for that — Ocala has specialists who do it properly. What we do is art-direct the shoot so you get the crops and angles the site actually needs, then handle every image after: colour, crop, compression, delivery.

Yes, and it's most of the work. Modern formats, responsive sizes so a phone never downloads a desktop file, lazy loading, and a CDN where it earns its cost. Fast thumbnails first, full resolution when they click — conformation detail matters, so we don't compress that away.

Branding and web design start at $3,000, social at $2,000, print at $300. Photography-heavy sites run above the starting point because image engineering takes real time. Fixed price in writing before anything begins.

Four to seven weeks for a photography-led site, longer if a shoot needs scheduling around your season. We plan around the sale and show calendar rather than launching in the middle of it.

We're about an hour south, so in-person meetings are easy when they're useful. Most of the work is remote either way — and given your buyers are frequently on another continent, a studio that understands distance selling matters more than one on the same street.
